For some, tipping can be an awkward subject. Some people are uncomfortable either asking if tipping is acceptable, and if so, how much is appropriate.

Del Sol provides bow and rifle drop hunts in both the Minam and Snake River units. You provide your own gear and we provide you the horseback taxi service in and out of the camp, as well as one meat haul for each member of your hunting party.

Del Sol provides a "supplied" drop camp hunt in both the Minam and Snake River units. Like the Drop Hunt, we taxi you in and out of your camp, provide each member a meat haul. But unlike the Drop Hunt we will provide the tent, wood stove, water heater, 2 - lanterns, 2 - tables, cots for each hunter, as well as a cooking stove.

For the hunter who wants us to nearly do it all, we provide an excellent Deluxe Hunt camp. Including 3 full meals a day prepared by Bob "The Cook". You also will have horses for travel and packing, as well as the appropriate number of hunting guides to assist in locating game.

Del Sol provides summer pack trips in both the Eagle Cap and Hell's Canyon Wildernesses. We can pack your gear while you hike in, or you can elect to ride in with us. The high lakes in the Eagle Cap provide excellent recreational camping, hiking and fishing.

Looking for a complete Hells Canyon adventure? Imagine floating the white waters of the Snake River for 3 days, taking in all of the sights and sounds that the bottom of the canyon has to offer. The adventure continues with a 3 day horseback trip from the river to the top of the canyon walls. And to conclude the adventure, take a chartered plane ride from a remote wilderness airstrip for a bird's eye view of the canyon back to Joseph.

2009 Spring Bear

Bears and Boys in the Backcountry

All we can say is... "What a hunt!"

We had the pleasure of packing in Cameron Hanes and his 2 boys, Truett and Tanner, along with Tim Thompson and his son Tucker for a Snake River spring bear hunt. Truett and Tucker, both 12 years old, were hunting on Oregon's mentor hunting program. Both young hunters came away great Snake River bruins.

Truett and Tucker were very cool under pressure being that they each had professional cameramen following each of them for 5 days. As this hunt was being filmed for a an umpcoming episode of Rocky Mountain Elk Foundations' television show, "Elk Chronicles". Which Truett's dad, Cameron Hanes is the host. See Outdoor Channel Episode Below !

Also along on this hunt was Shay Mann, Barry Cox, Forest Cox, and Nora Hawkins, who ran our deluxe camp.

Forest Cox, age 15, also killed his first bear. Forest was chasing a bear appropriatly named limpy, for the second year. This bear had a noticable limp to him, but don't let that fool you. This bear was cagey and very elusive.

Needless to say, this was an awesome hunt. We all had a great time!
